Sandra Mcintyre, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker #126304
Expertise: Anxiety, Depressive Disorders, Eating Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, CBT, DBT
Hi! My name is Sandra Mcintyre and I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression and eating disorders. I graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a bachelor’s in psychology followed by the University of Southern California with my master’s in social work. After obtaining my master’s degree, I worked briefly with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder before transitioning to working as a primary therapist for an eating disorder residential program here in Southern California. I also have extensive experience working in a hospital setting with adolescents and young adults diagnosed with eating disorders and other co-occurring disorders.
As someone who has experienced firsthand the challenges of recovery from an eating disorder, I always knew I wanted to enter the field of counseling to help others find their way to recovery. Utilizing a CBT/DBT modality as well as motivational interviewing, I hope to help my clients change their relationship with their bodies and food in a positive way. I truly believe that a full recovery from an eating disorder is 100% possible and want to help you on that journey.
In my free time, I love reading fantasy novels, exploring theme parks (Disneyland in particular), and hanging out with my two cats (Sushi and Dr. Spencer Reid).
