My name is Dr. Kandice Timmons and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY29004). I earned my Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology from Loyola University New Orleans. I went on to earn my Master’s Degree (M.A.) in Clinical Psychology and my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Antioch University Santa Barbara.
My clinical background is focused on working within many multicultural contexts including but not limited to the LGBTQIA community, adolescents with emotional disturbances and transitioned aged youth (16-24). In practice, I am cognizant of the importance of working with the needs of the client, and utilize my foundational understanding of psychodynamic theory and other therapeutic interventions to assist the client in working through obstacles to promote positive change and growth.
In life people journey through many paths and transitions and will inevitably face challenges and obstacles along the way that may require additional support. My training allows me to compassionately help other’s utilize their strengths and discover resources to address these challenges. Using a non-judgmental and supportive approach to therapy, I draw upon my education and experience as well as humor to create a positive therapeutic relationship to facilitate your movement along your journey.
